Salvia Is Way More Popular Now That Miley Smoked It: 

 

No big surprise here:  Salvia . . . the hallucinogenic, non-addictive and sometimes-legal herb that MILEY CYRUS was caught on video smoking . . . has gotten a lot more popular since that video hit the web.

TMZ spoke to several "head shops" in California . . . one of the states where salvia is legal.  And they say sales are a lot HIGHER, if you'll pardon the pun, thanks to Miley.

In fact, a lot of customers can't remember the name of it, so they just ask for, quote, "the stuff Miley was smoking."

According to the website SageWisdom.org, salvia is illegal in 15 states:  Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Virginia.

In four states, it's legal only when NOT intended for human consumption.  Those states are Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Did Miley's People Try to Obtain All the Copies of Her Smoking Video? 

TMZ says that MILEY CYRUS' people had been trying for a few weeks to stop that video from coming out.  Obviously, they failed.

Supposedly, at least two college kids in California contacted Miley's people and said they had copies.  In each case, the kids surrendered their computers to Miley's handlers, and received brand new computers in return.

It doesn't appear that either of them got any money.

CHELSEA HANDLER Tweeted a picture of herself in bed with 50 CENT.  Of course, it's a joke.  Although we don't have any evidence that they didn't make animalistic, interracial love immediately after it was taken.

Pink Is Not Having a Water Birth: 

"In Touch Weekly" says PINK is having a water birth.  But it's not true.  Here's the denial Pink posted on Twitter . . . quote, "My mom just told me that "in touch" has informed her that she is invited to my delivery, and that I want a water birth.

"She asked me if she needs to get a snorkel.  This is all news to me.  Amazing.  Good reporting."

Dan Aykroyd Won't Work With Anyone But Famous People: 

 

DAN AYKROYD has been in showbiz for over 40 years.  So you might say he's earned the right to be picky about when he works . . . and who he works with.  And he is.

Dan has no interest in working on small, indie films with unknown people.

He says, quote, "I will walk out the door for the paycheck I deserve and working with the superstars.  Otherwise, I won't work as an actor.

"I'm sorry. I don't have to, and why shouldn't I get what is commensurate with what my market will bear today?"

He adds, quote, "It's not the salary I used to get, and I don't care if I play a supporting part.  Fine.  I'm reasonable.

"But I'm not going to work for nothing, and I'm not going to work for people who are unknown.  I can't do it."

Carrie Fisher Admits She's Slept with "Star Wars" Nerds: 

Every male "Star Wars" fan has fantasized about sleeping with CARRIE FISHER.  And Carrie admits that some of them have REALIZED that fantasy. 

She says, quote, "I certainly have, along the way, slept with a nerd . . . Nerds will surprise you.  They're way more enthusiastic.  More bang with your buck."

Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese are Teaming Up Again: 

 

ROBERT DE NIRO and director MARTIN SCORSESE are teaming up again . . . this time for "The Irishman".  It's a crime drama about Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran . . . a union official who becomes a hitman.

De Niro and Scorsese's other collaborations include "Mean Streets", "Taxi Driver", "New York, New York", "Raging Bull", "The King of Comedy", "Goodfellas" and "Casino".

The Two Best Players in "Jeopardy!" History Will Face Off Against a Computer in February: 

KEN JENNINGS and BRAD RUTTER . . . the two best players in "Jeopardy!" history . . . will face off against an IBM supercomputer called WATSON.  The episodes will air on February 14th, 15th and 16th.

The winner gets $1 million.  IBM says it'll give the money away if Watson wins.  Jennings and Rutter have both said they'll donate HALF.

Jennings has the longest winning streak in "Jeopardy!" history.  He won an amazing 74 straight games during the 2004 - 2005 season.

He won about $2.5 million during that run . . . and he now has about $3 million in total "Jeopardy!" winnings after going on to take second place in a "Tournament of Champions".

Rutter, meanwhile, has the record for most "Jeopardy!" winnings.  After his initial appearance on the show, he went on to win THREE tournaments.  His winnings total almost $3.3 million.

The Most Annoying Christmas Songs . . . According to Bulgarians: 

 

It's a good thing that Christmas music is a seasonal thing . . . because very few us could tolerate listening to it for more than one month a year.  (--Or if you work in retail, it's more like THREE months a year.  Poor souls.)

But Americans aren't the only ones with Christmas music on our last nerves.  Just ask Bulgarians.  And interestingly enough, someone did.

The site NoHoHoHo.org. . . conducted a poll asking over 28,000 Bulgarians for their take on The Most Annoying Christmas Songs.  And as it turns out, Bulgarians most detest WHAM'S "Last Christmas". 

It's a Top 10 list, however two of them weren't written in English.  And since the Bulgarian alphabet includes letters that we don't use, we couldn't even GUESS the titles or artists.  Apparently they're LOCAL ear-sores.

Ja Rule Pleads Guilty to a Gun Charge . . . and Gets Mocked on Twitter By 50 Cent: 

JA RULE has pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.  That's a felony.  He's expected to be sentenced to TWO YEARS in prison in February.

Back in 2007, the police found a semiautomatic weapon in Ja Rule's vehicle when they pulled him over for speeding.

In an odd coincidence, Ja Rule had made a guest appearance at a LIL WAYNE concert earlier that night.  Meanwhile . . . just after Ja Rule was pulled over . . . cops boarded Wayne's tour bus and discovered HIS gun.

Lil Wayne served eight months in prison for that.  He was released last month.

After the hearing, Ja Rule Tweeted, quote, "Minor setback for a major comeback."

Meanwhile, 50 CENT made Ja Rule's day WORSE by re-igniting their beef . . . via Twitter.  He sarcastically said, quote, "Damn da homie jah rule gotta do 2 years.  Tell him I said don't worry I got him when he come home.  LOL.

"Yo, word to my mother if anybody knock jah out and (eff) him in jail.  It's gonna be on.  LOL.  Ya'll know I'm crazy as (eff) so don't mess with my little homie jah.  LOL.

"I'm well connected, I'm a say it again.  I'm well connected, don't (eff) with my little homie jah.  […]  Jah came out the courtroom yelling who the (eff) canceled Christmas.  LOL.  Come on it's only 721 days, stop crying.  It's only 104 weeks.

Ja Rule responded by Tweeting, quote, "(N-word), u (rhymes with wussy) . . . shut up before I smack u in yo mouth again LOL.  The nerve of some (N-words)!!!"

To that, 50 said, quote, "You see I was just trying to look out [for] the homie, now he mad at me . . . why?  I don't wish jail on nobody stay strong you little punk.  LOL."

NICOLE RICHIE and JOEL MADDEN got married Saturday at the Los Angeles estate of Nicole's adoptive father, LIONEL RICHIE.

Celebrity guests included Joel's twin brother Benji, Khloe Kardashian, Samantha Ronson, and Gwen Stefani with her husband Gavin Rossdale.

The ceremony was conducted by REVEREND RUN of RUN-DMC.

For reasons unknown, the festivities also included an ELEPHANT. 

Nicole is 29, Joel is 31.  They've been together four years and they have two children together:  2-year-old Harlow and 15-month-old Sparrow. 

Over the summer, a picture hit the web that allegedly showed KE$HA topless, with MAN SEED covering her torso.

It was posted by a guy who goes by the name of DJ Stolen.  And he supposedly had MORE X-rated shots of Ke$ha that he was willing to post.

But before he could, Ke$ha offered to buy him out by giving him a SHOUT-OUT that he could use in his DJ sets.  And it must have worked, because no more pictures materialized.

Until now.  PerezHilton.com posted a couple shots this weekend.  One of them shows Ke$ha making out with some guy . . . and the other shows what appears to be that same guy PERFORMING ORALLY on her.

As it stands, we have no idea where this picture came from or who leaked it.

The cast of "Glee" was supposed to shoot a musical performance for their post-Super Bowl episode last Friday . . . but production was shut down because of a TONSILLITIS EPIDEMIC.

It's unclear who is sick . . . and how many cast members are affected, but we do know DIANNA AGRON is one of them. 

She posted Twitter message saying, quote, "Note to self:  Should have gotten a flu shot.  In bed, hoping that medicine, soup, my computer and a marathon of movies will be the cure."

Filming is set to resume today, although the musical performance that was going to be shot Friday has been rescheduled for next month.

Billy Ray Cyrus Is Upset About the Miley Bong Hit Video . . . But He Says Things are "Out of [His] Control Right Now": 

BILLY RAY CYRUS has seen the video of his daughter MILEY taking a bong hit.  And while he's not happy about it, he doesn't seem to think there's anything he can do about it.

Friday night, several hours after the video leaked, he said, quote, "Sorry guys.  I had no idea.  Just saw this stuff for the first time myself.

"I'm so sad.  There is much beyond my control right now."

KATY PERRY, on the other hand, has no problem with Miley's new leisure-time activity.  She Tweeted, quote, "Wait Miley got high?  Where have I been?!  Buried under the tinsel obiv.

JUSTIN BIEBER and SELENA GOMEZ were spotted having breakfast at an IHOP in Philadelphia this past Thursday . . . and they were HOLDING HANDS.

In 2009 . . . the most recent year for which figures are available . . . Oprah gave $41.4 million to charity.  Author NORA ROBERTS finished a distant second with $4.45 million.  Which is about 10% of what Oprah gave.

Justin Bieber Was the Most-Streamed Music Artist in 2010: 

JUSTIN BIEBER has yet another distinction to add to his continually growing . . . distinction cabinet.  "Billboard" reports that Justin was the world's most-streamed music artist in 2010.

So just how many Justin streams were there?  Over ONE BILLION.  For real.

And it's actually much more than that.  The analysis only included data from YouTube and MySpace.  Also it only counted streams for the five biggest music publishers . . . meaning that unofficial Justin content was probably not counted.

Perhaps this isn't too surprising.  Justin's video for "Baby" has become YouTube's most viewed video of all-time.  It's currently been watched 405 million times.

But here's a crazy way to look at it:  Those music publishers have had 14.8 billion streams overall . . . meaning that he accounts for 6.9% of all streams.  So, roughly one of every 14 streams for the top five publishers was Justin Bieber.

Here's the Top 10, along with the number of streams they've had in 2010.
