1. Style&Co Bag
I bought this bag at Macy's in preparation for my trip to Europe; I needed something that would sling over my shoulder easily but was also adorable. I fell in love with the coffee color of this bag, and have continued to use it even after it fell apart several times. The strap is currently held on with a key ring on one side and a spare purse clip on the other. The pocket zipper on the inside is broken and sewn shut. It's a mess, but I love it.
2. Wallet
I fell in love with the color of this wallet, and used to have a purse that matched. The purse was annoying, but I've kept this wallet and adore it. It was one of the first things I splurged on when I got my job at KDWB.
3. Coin Purse
I bought this for about $3 at Claire's Boutique back in high school, and I've never found a coin purse I love more. It's glittery blue leopard! You can't go wrong!
4. iPod
You never know when you'll need to jam to some Busta Rhymes or the Lord of the Dance soundtrack, so I carry this around with me always.
5. Car Keys
You know. Cuz you need 'em.
6. Nail File
My nails are super weak and are always breaking, so I need to make sure I can fix the small nick before I get annoyed and peel the entire nail off. Glittery doesn't hurt, either.
7. Lip Balm/Lipstick
I currently have 6 tubes of lipstick, one tube of lipgloss and one stick of lip balm in my purse. It's total overkill, but it's better than the dozens of tubes I have at home. These cover a wide array of finishes and colors, so I'm always prepared!
8. Oil Blotting Sheets/Pressed Powder
I have super oily skin, so the oil blotting sheets keep me from looking like I just jumped into a pool, and the pressed powder adds a nice layer of coverage to keep my makeup in place during the day. It's also nice to have a mirror in my purse for those spinach-heavy lunches I have occasionally...
9. Ibuprofen
If I don't have a headache or backache, someone I work with does. People know they can always come to me for painkillers. I think I was a giant pain-in-the-ass in a former life, so it's my penance to carry painkillers in this one.
10. Camera
I can't tell you how many times I've been grateful that I had my camera ready in my purse. I bust it out whenever I see a pretty building, a trashy tattoo, or a hilarious friend doing something they'll regret. My cellphone camera sucks, so carrying my camera with me is a must.
11. Wine Cork
No idea why this is in here. It might be from a dinner with Ricky. In fact, that's totally it. It's from when Ricky was in town and we went to an Italian place. I remember he was going to leave it on the table, and then last minute put it in my purse. Aw, that's sweet! I'll keep it in there.
12. Headphone Adapter Jack
These things breed. I had one, and now I find them in every single purse or bag I pull out of storage. They're useful if my headphones for work lose their own adapter (thus leaving them with the little prong that fits in your iPod), but somehow the one I started with multiplied into several.
13. Hair Pins
Apparently I was wearing a bun at one point and then took it down. These are also useful for that day I need to pick a lock in a super sexy and impressive way.
14. Reusable Shopping Bag
My mom bought each one of her daughters one of these in Europe. It makes me feel like I fit in when I shop at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.
15. Sugar-free Gum
I am constantly chewing gum. It keeps me from eating everything I come across, and helps squelch fake hunger (boredom). Extra makes killer dessert flavors, so I always have multiple packs in my purse.
